Question of human values

I was unable to keep up with human society. Those we consider deadbeats are not necessarily ones who do wrong. "Deadbeats" such as I are those who were too weak to keep up with human society, because it didn't work for them. Because I am weak, you want to hurt me. Natural selection weeds me out in the human world. It leaves us on the street, and, eventually, it kills us.

Human benefits solely come from contribution to the overall human goal; money.

But I was lucky enough to find another path. A path that worked for me. A path with my beloved cat, who does not even know, or care, of the distinction between what humans consider a "deadbeat" and what they consider a valuable member of society. This cat cares about food, water, and sleep, almost solely. Otherwise he is freely open to care, love, and respect, emotions that I almost never received from the humans.

Just because I do not contribute to your collective mess that you call a society does not mean I am not worth living. I may live 40 years less here than I would there, but the few years I live will be much happier years than the many years I would live with the humans.

Even you scientists and charity-workers who claim you care about the animals don't truly. If you did, you would descend to their level. If you cared enough, you would live with them, abide solely by their behaviors, and abandon human society altogether. Instead, you have chosen the selfish desire of achieving your intangible idea known as "currency" in order to benefit the human spirit, so that the humans can consider you worthy. The animals could care less about this worth you hold to yourself so dear.

I, however, have truly discovered what love is, with this one creature who truly cares about me for who I myself am, and not based on my position amongst all other humans. Here, there are few positions to even be identified with. Within simplicity and escapism I have found a true bond that none of you humans will or even could ever understand. Thus, even if you kill me right here and now, I will die having lived the amazing experience that is worth over a thousand of your more human lives.
